Morten Gamst Pedersen's agent says he is planning to hold contract talks with Blackburn Rovers following speculation linking his client with a big-money move to Arsenal.

Pedersen's Norwegian representative, Rune Hauge, claims Rovers have already rejected several offers for the winger, and he intends to seek a pay-rise for the 25-year-old on the strength of it.

Hauge said: "We have registered what is happening with Morten.

"Our job is to secure for our clients the best possible deals in relation to the markets they play in.

"As offers have been rejected, Gamst's deal is obviously something we need to talk about.

"We have a good relationship with Blackburn so we will hold talks with them."

Rovers are thought to be willing to offer Pedersen new terms in order to ward off interest from elsewhere, even though the winger only signed a new contract 12 months ago.

The player himself added: "If Blackburn want to pay me more it means they appreciate my contribution to the team.

"But I don't go around thinking about money. It means a lot in this world, but not everything."
