STANLEY boss John Coleman has had his say on Luton Town manager Nathan Jones’ claim that the Hatters are the best team in League Two.

Jones made the comments after his side secured promotion with a 1-1 draw at Carlisle United last weekend.

But Luton remain six points adrift of Stanley with just two games remaining meaning it is Coleman’s men in charge in the title race.

“Accrington have done something wonderful,” Jones said after his side secured promotion.

“But over the season I’d struggle to find a better side than us in how we’ve played and how we’ve gone about our job.

“I’m biased because I’m proud of how we play, when I watch our games back they’re the most enjoyable games I watch.

“I watched over 200 League Two games this year, I watch five-a-week and ours are the most enjoyable ones to watch.”

Asked about the 44-year-old’s comments ahead of this afternoon’s game with Lincoln City, where a point will give Stanley the title, Reds boss Coleman said: “He has got every right to think that and he’s got valid points, they do play entertaining football, they do score goals, they have won a lot of games.

“It depends on what you measure success by. I have often thought we have been one of the better teams in the league in years when we haven’t even finished in the play-offs.

“I wouldn’t subscribe that the best team always wins the league, you need a bit of luck along the way.

“I know we have got a good side and I know Luton have a good side.

“People can enjoy the conjecture and sometimes it makes for good reading and good talking points.”

Should the League Two title race go to the last game of the season, Stanley would need a point from their trip to Swindon Town while the Reds would also be champions if Luton dropped points at Notts County, who could still be in contention for the final automatic promotion place.
