A MUCH-CHANGED Burnley side couldn't break the deadlock before half-time at Blundell Park.
Clarets manager Steve Cotterill made nine changes for this Carling Cup first round clash with League Two Grimsby Town, including handing a debut to new signing David Unsworth.
Michael Duff and Stephen Jordan were the only two named in the starting line-up for the second consecutive match as Cotterill utilised the rest of his squad.
Alan Mahon and Stephen Foster had the best chances for Burnley, while Peter Till forced Brian Jensen into the first save of the game in the 38th minute.
