THE FRASER Eagle Stadium has become a graveyard for higher division clubs in the recent past.

Bournemouth, Huddersfield Town and, this time last year, Nottingham Forest, have all tasted defeat at Stanley.

Next up it's the turn of Championship side Leicester City to try to overcome the Stanley hoodoo.

And they won't travel up the M1 in the greatest of spirits after being beaten by another Lancashire side, Blackpool, on the opening day of the season.

But Reds boss John Coleman is nothing if not practical and won't be taking too much notice of history.

He said: "We're playing a team from a couple of divisions above us. They're a very big club and because we've had such success at home in cup games, some people almost make us favourites and they expect you to win.

"I'm not going in expecting to win. All I want is a good performance from my team. If I get a good performance from my team, that will give us a good platform to build on for next Saturday."

Tonight, Coleman faces his old mate Martin Allen who is now in charge of the Foxes.

The pair have come head-to-head on a number of occasions in the past and Coleman is looking forward to putting one over his old friend.

He added: "We've got a bit of a mixed bag of results against Martin at our place. I think we beat them when he was with Barnet and he got a result here with MK Dons.

"That's 1-1 so we'll try and edge in front again."

And Coleman revealed that his side wouldn't die wondering as they face their glamorous visitors tonight.

He added: "We only know one way to play and that's to go and try to win the game, certainly at home.

"Against Wycombe, we tried to focus on being hard to beat and we always believe we are capable of scoring a goal if not a couple.

"At home, you tend to try and force the play a bit more. We were disappointed that we didn't force things a bit more on Saturday.

"We wanted to have more of a say in the way the game was played and we'll need to do that against Leicester.

"Saturday's win will give everyone confidence. It'll give the fans confidence. People have been asking questions of us defensively and I think we answered some of them on Saturday.

"But we can't rest on our laurels because it's a long season and things can go pear-shaped very quickly."
