ROVERS have announced the signing of Fleetwood Town left-back Amari’i Bell for an undisclosed fee.

The deal ends a near month long pursuit of the 23-year-old who joins on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Bell has featured in every league game for Fleetwood this season and has made 137 appearances in all since joining from Birmingham City in 2015, but was out of contract in the summer.

He won’t be available for Rovers’ trip to Highbury to face his former side tomorrow and he will have to wait until next weekend's home match with Northampton Town to be involved for the first time.

Tony Mowbray has been keen to add competition to Derrick Williams at left-back, with last year’s player of the season having started all of Mowbray’s 41 league matches in charge.

Bell’s arrival also comes in the week that Rovers allowed youngster Sam Hart to join League One side Rochdale on loan until the end of the season.

Bell follows Adam Armstrong and Jack Payne through the Ewood arrivals door this month, while Paul Downing saw his loan move from MK Dons made permanent.
