RAMSBOTTOM achi-eved their 1000th Lancashire League win after a comfortable victory over Church at Acre Bottom.

The visitors were skittled for just 70 before Ramsbottom took to the crease, reaching the historic landmark with the loss of just two wickets.

Mike Haslam took 4-33, Toby McLean 2-32 and professional Sunil Joshi 2-5; while with the bat Phil Hayes (28) and Chris Wood (21), standing in for Steve Leonard, put on 51 as Ramsbottom took 23.1 overs to bag the 12 points.

Over at Centre Vale, Nelson captain Mike Bradley was creating more history as he equalled the Lancashire League wicketkeeping record for most victims when he stumped Todmorden's Tom marsh.

The hosts made 206-5 with half centuries from sub professional Werner Coetsee (57) and skipper Jon Henderson (56).

Openers Simon Newbitt (20) and Stuart Priestley (37) gave the home side a good start with a stand of 54 before both fell to Craig McMillan (3-76). Todmorden went on to bowl Nelson out for 141.

Bacup beat Lower-house by 90 runs at Liverpool Road. Chris Harris took 5-7 from 14 overs. Paul Gallagher (26), Tim Farragher (24) and Terry Lord (24) all grafted on a difficult wicket in Bacup's 134 all out.

Sanjay Bangar was the hero for Rawtenstall as his efforts helped them to a 22 run win over Burnley.

Bangar picked up 6-82 with Keith Roscoe chipping in with 3-53 to restrict Burnley to 177 all out. Half centuries from professional Sanjay Bangar (64) and Chris Cook-Martin (59) had earlier helped Rawtenstall to 199-8.

Greg Mail's fourth century of the season helped Colne beat Haslingden by three wickets at the Horsfield.

He added 103 with Jeff Ellis (48) for the first wicket and when he was fifth out just 11 runs were needed.

Bottom side Accrington gave the leaders Rishton a scare before going down by 11 runs at Blackburn Road.

Rishton were in trouble at 37-4 after David Ormerod (3-59) and Zahir Afzal (3-67) had made early inroads. Jimmy Bibby hit an unbeaten 44 with good support from Jon Dobson (31) and Sam Hacking, who hit 51 from 37 balls with four sixes and four fours to take Rishton to 184-7.

Accrington were well placed at 156-4 with professional Nishit Shetty hitting 70, but Shaun Hutchinson took 5-27 and Saeed Anwar 4-77 to save the day and keep Rishton at the top of the pile.
