YOUNG Blackburn Rovers defender Matthew Platt has signed a new contract with the club.
The 20-year-old has extended his deal until the summer of 2019 and follows fellow Academy graduates Lewis Hardcastle, Willem Tomlinson, Scott Wharton and Ryan Nyambe in committing his future to the club.
The centre back is a regular for Damien Johnson's Under-23 side and has also featured for the Rovers first team in the Checkatrade Trophy.
The former Barrow loanee started the group games with Stoke City Under-21s and Bury before coming off the bench at Rochdale.
