We asked our Rovers fans' jury: ‘How big a blow is Elliott Bennett’s four game suspension?’

Elliot Bennett has been a consistent and important contributor to Rovers’ revival in recent games so it’s a potentially significant disadvantage at this crucial stage of the season. The team’s rhythm and current momentum might be affected.

It also shows what a potentially negative influence the FA Cup can be when you are desperate to do well in the league. Having said all that, any team with promotion ambitions should have a squad capable of coping with suspensions and injuries. However, if Conway isn’t fit we may be in trouble.

Elliott Bennett is a leader on the pitch, connects with the fans off it and someone who always gives his all for the team. He appears to have made a mistake on Sunday. Although the footage does not show him kick out, the fact Rovers have chosen not to appeal the ban suggests Bennett can have no complaints. That second red card cost us winning the game and avoiding an extra fixture in what is already a very congested period in the season.

Moving forward, there is enough quality in the squad to cope without Bennett. But Tony Mowbray now has four wide players missing - Harry Chapman, Craig Conway and Ben Gladwin are all out injured. Bennett is a player who can produce a moment of quality out of nothing. His energy and leadership will be missed.
