FIRST half goals from Jack Cork and Robbie Brady proved enough for Burnley to win the East Lancashire derby against Rovers at Ewood Park.
Cork put the visitors in front with his 27th minute header as he met an inswinging Robbie Brady cross to nod beyond David Raya.
And having been provider for the first, Brady scored the second as he fired past Raya in addditional time at the end of the first-half.
The second half was more competitive, with Rovers sending on three substitutes before the hour mark, but despite their best effort, they couldn't break through.
Dominic Samuel saw a goal chalked off for offside, while Charlie Mulgrew went close with a free-kick, but the bragging rights belonged to Burnley who made it in to the Carabao Cup third round.
