Tom Heaton 6

Little he could do with either goal and aside from that he was relatively untroubled all afternoon.

Matt Lowton 6

Put some good crosses in but made a mistake going for interception in build-up to first goal.

Kevin Long 7

Impressive considering his lack of game time. Looked comfortable on the ball and played with confidence.

James Tarkowski 6

Lost Dawson for second goal but aside from that another assured display. Also comfortable on the ball.

Stephen Ward 7

May not have been 100 per cent fit but worked hard and linked up well with Boyd when he went to the left.

George Boyd 7

Looked better when he switched to the left and got in some good positions on that flank.

Ashley Westwood 8

Confidence looks like it’s being rebuilt. Another display full of energy and passing was crisp and effective.

Jeff Hendrick 8

Partnership with Westwood looks promising. Hendrick set the tempo for large parts of the game and was always keen to have the ball.

Scott Arfield 7

Great chance in first half but got in those sort of positions often. Corners were fairly threatening as well.

Ashley Barnes 7

Deserves huge amount of credit for the way he shot to his feet to set up Vokes’ first goal.

Sam Vokes 8 (Man of the Match)

Two well-taken goals and could have had a hat-trick with Foster saving his first-half effort. Seemed to relish the aerial battle with Albion’s giants and won more than his fair share of headers, including for the second, crucial goal.
