MATCH of the Day pundit Ian Wright was full of praise for Jeff Hendrick's performance for Burnley in the win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
Hendrick scored a stunning goal to give Burnley the lead but he caught the eye of Wright with an all-action display.
Burnley's 3-2 win over Bournemouth was the fifth of six games shown on Saturday night's MOTD, but Wright had plenty to say about Hendrick.
"He showed a lot of desire and tenacity," he said of his performance. "He drives into the box and should have got something here (when pushed over by Harry Arter), it could have been a penalty.
"(For the goal) he drifts into that area, it's a great ball in, but this touch was super and then why not? Bam. Brilliant goal, fantastic goal.
"I love that, that is a fantastic goal. But he was very tenacious. He was winning the ball back for his team, it was fantastic stuff.
"This isn't an accident, this pass to Andre Gray, he knows what he's doing, that is brilliant, he had a really good game.
"I was rooting for Andre Gray to get something here, I can't understand why he's not starting, he causes a lot of problems."
Fellow pundit Danny Murphy also had praise for Burnley's approach at home.
"Super fitness, carry out a plan really well, manager gets the best out of them," he said.
