THE Football Association have granted Burnley striker Andre Gray an extension to respond to charges relating to offensive historical tweets.
The player originally had until 6pm tonight (August 31) but that has been pushed back until Monday, September 5.
Gray was charged concerning comments deemed to be abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or bringing the game into disrepute contrary to FA Rule E3(1).
It is further alleged that these breaches included reference to an “aggravating factor”, namely, sexual orientation and/or gender and/or colour and/or race contrary to FA Rule E3(2).
The charges relate to Twitter posts on his account made between January 9, 2012 and March 11, 2012.
