ST PETER’S Mill Hill have been crowned the champions of champions after winning a competition between the best schools in Blackburn and Darwen.
The top four teams from their respective town team tournaments were invited to St Bede’s High School for a football showdown - although only three teams from Darwen attended.
All seven teams that took part played each other on a round-robin basis.
And the super Saints proved to be too good for their rivals as they topped the table with 14 points with a unbeaten record of four wins and two draws.
They kicked off with a 2-0 win against Avondale before edging a 2-1 win against St Gabriels. They made it three wins out of three with a narrow 1-0 win over St Cuthberts then sealed a 2-1 victory against St Pauls Hoddlesden.
Next up was a clash with nearest rivals Feniscowles which ended 1-1 before getting the point they needed to secure the title as they drew 0-0 with St Francis and maintain their unbeaten record.
