DANNY COYNE: Injuries have been his biggest problem and he was never the player that he promised to be for us a couple of years ago because of it.

On his comeback from injury he made elementary mistakes and the position Burnley are in they had to let him go. 6 WAYNE THOMAS: He came back very strong and looks a commanding centre half. In the last game of the season against Coventry he was the best player on the pitch. He's looking strong and is one to lead us next year. 9 JON HARLEY: He is a good player going forward, but I think his size is against him when it comes to his defensive duties. He isn't the tallest of players and trying to defend the back post may be a problem. 7 JOHN McGREAL: I'm sorry to see him go, but age wasn't on his side. Plus, centre half is a position that we're quite strong at now and have got a fair bit of cover. But, to me, he was always a solid performer. 8 MICHAEL DUFF: Although he has done a good job at right back, I think his best position is centre half. He has been one of the best players this term, if not THE best player.

He is good and strong in the air, uses the ball well, he is commanding and doesn't let much get past him. He is a good, all-round player who has the quality to be a Premiership defender. 9 JAMES O'CONNOR: He has been industrious and pretty consistent in midfield and has worked very hard. But next season I would like to see a bigger output from midfield players in terms of goals, getting into the box and getting on the end of things. 8 ALAN MAHON: After completing a permanent move I was looking forward to seeing him a lot more this season. But all of a sudden he's just fizzled out and it's been a disappointing campaign for him.

After the promise he showed, his performances earlier in the season were poor, and then he picked up an injury and his season went from bad to worse. I bet he's glad to see the end of it. Hopefully he can rediscover the form when he first came to the club next season. 7 STEVE JONES: He looks the part - is good on the ball, has pace and ability to go beyond people, but when he gets into the box his final effort is disappointing. He gives the team such a lot with his running and looks exciting, it's his finishing that lets him down. But he is a decent all-round player and an asset to the squad. 7 ANDY GRAY: Up to him getting injured he was looking good and still managed to end the season with 14 goals despite a two-month lay-off.

But I'd like to see him attack the ball more next season. He is one of those centre forwards who has his heels on the ground and doesn't try to get off the ground enough. Andy could be even more lethal if he used his height more effectively. Take his goalscoring away this season though and Burnley would've been in trouble. 9 WADE ELLIOTT: He is a decent player and one of the highlights of this season was his spectacular goal at Sunderland. Next season I'd like to see him take a few more people on and get beyond them to supply more crosses into the strikers and give them ammunition. 8 BRIAN JENSEN: The Danish goalkeper has done very well this season. He's still likely to drop the odd clanger, which doesn't make him the most dependable, but his all-round performance over the season has been good. He contributed to some valuable clean sheets in April. 8 GARRETH O'CONNOR: We haven't seen much of him at all this season and, obviously, the manager doesn't see a future for him at Burnley with putting him on the transfer list. 6 GRAHAM BRANCH: Mr Dependable. He did a job whatever you asked of him and has been a great servant to Burnley. Age has come into the equation for him now at the club, but he's a fit lad and will probably play another two or three seasons, maybe in League One. 8 CHRIS McCANN: A good, young up and coming player who has seemed to improve as the season's gone on. He is versatile, has shown improvement all the time and is getting stronger and developing more. He's level headed, which is important because youngsters have got to keep their feet on the ground. 9 KYLE LAFFERTY: He's got to prove himself yet. Each time he has come on this season he has looked a bit leggy. He just needs to settle down and gain some composure, which he will do, and keep improving all the time. I'm sure Steve and his backroom staff will harness him and develop his potential. 9 ERIC DJEMBA-DJEMBA: He's been an asset since arriving on loan from Aston Villa and hopefully he will be back in some capacity next season. He's a bit like Micah Hyde in that he's involved all the time, and he's got Premiership experience which could be valuable next season. 8 JOHN SPICER: He's had an in and out season but is another good squad player. He has come on and done well this season, not least with his brilliant goal to clinch the win at Birmingham. 7 ADE AKINBIYI: I have been disappointed with him since he came back in January, but I think he is a better player than what he has shown in his second spell. Hopefully next season he will come back stronger and more match fit and show what he is capable of. 7 PAUL McVEIGH: He is the one striker who has movement in the box and has scored a couple of goals where crosses have come in and he's whipped them into the roof of the net. I thought him and Gray played well together and I'd like to see him back next season. 8 STEPHEN FOSTER: He's looked dependable when he has played but we haven't seen very much of him at all. I can't see him making many starts next year but he's a useful player to have in your squad. 7 STEVEN CALDWELL: A good centre half who's commanding, authoritative, organises well and used the ball well. He's a quality player, a good captain and his experience shows in his general play. He'll do a good job for Burnley for a few years. 9 JOEY GUDJONSSON: He hasn't done it at Burnley yet but his record shows he has scored goals, and hopefully that's something we'll see a lot of next season. 8
