BLACKBURN Rovers recorded a first away win of the season with a 2-0 success at Leeds United.

Rovers were ahead inside 18 seconds at Elland Road, Ben Marshall’s cross from the right was flicked by a Leeds head onto an unmarked Craig Conway, who controlled on his chest before firing home inside the near post.

Five minutes later the advantage was doubled. Tom Lawrence skipped past a couple of challenges into the box before squaring for Rhodes, who worked half a yard against Sol Bamba and shot into the bottom corner across Silvestri.

After flying out of the traps Rovers were then content to sit back and play on the counter attack.

Jason Steele was rarely called into action with Shane Duffy and Grant Hanley, before he went off with a head injury, outstanding, as was Tom Lawrence, who was at the heart of everything Rovers did going forward.
