ROVERS right-back Brett Emerton has revealed confidence at the club is sky high as they go in search of a UEFA Cup spot.

But the Australian international is fully aware that they will be brought down to earth with an almighty bump if they fail to take all three points from White Hart Lane tonight.

After convincingly dumping Newcastle on their home turf on Saturday, Rovers face tricky ties against Tottenham and Reading as they go in search of automatic European qualification for the second year on the spin.

And Emerton knows nothing less than two wins from both games will do.

He said: "We are obviously feeling very confident after the win at Newcastle," admitted the in-form defender. "We seem to be on a bit of a roll at the moment so hopefully that will continue on Thursday against Spurs.

"We are looking at winning our remaining two fixtures and hopefully securing a UEFA Cup spot. We have got high expectations of ourselves here now and after qualifying last season we want to try and do that every year. If we are to have any chance we have to win both of our remaining games.

"We have a lot of confidence in ourselves at the moment and we are playing good football, plus we are playing games against teams in and around us.

"Hopefully we can finish on a high and we can go into the summer feeling good."
