COLNE make the short trip down the M65 to take on AFC Darwen tonight looking to continue their near perfect start to their North West Counties League campaign.

Steve Cunningham’s side have lost just one of their 13 Premier Division matches to date - a surprise 4-0 defeat at mid-table Cammell Laird earlier this month.

It is an impressive run of results that has taken the Reds to the summit of the table, although they could be toppled from top spot if second placed Runcorn Linnets picked up all three points at Alsager Town last night.

AFC Darwen, by contrast, are finding their feet in the division following their memorable charge to promotion last season.

The Anchor Ground outfit are currently 16th in the table and host the East Lancs derby on the back of two heavy defeats, the latest a 5-1 home defeat to Runcorn Town on Saturday.

Bacup Borough get the chance to put their play-off credentials to the test when they host fellow form side Stockport Town.

Brent Peters side are currently in sixth place in Division One, three places and three points below Stockport.
