Goalkeeper Rachel Brown is preparing to line up alongside the world's elite for a glamour friendly match in the Far East.

The 26-year-old from Burnley is only the second ever English female and the first ever English goalkeeper to be selected for the Women's FIFA World All Stars team, who play the Chinese national team tomorrow night.

The team comprises almost exclusively of players from teams who have qualified for this year's Women's World Cup and will be put through their paces by current England coach Hope Powell and the former coach of reigning world champions Germany, Tina Theune-Meyer.

And Brown, who plays her club football for Everton, admitted she was immensely proud to be picked for the match.

She told the Telegraph: "It was a couple of months ago when I was selected and, to be honest, I found out completely by accident.

"Someone said congratulations on getting in the team and at that time I had no idea, but news eventually filtered through.

"It's quite an honour and I'm really chuffed to be playing in such an elite group of players."

Brown is one of two keepers to be picked for the showcase match at the Wuhan Sports Centre Stadium alongside 32-year-old Norwegian stopper Bente Nordby.

And she revealed she was excited at the prospect of honing her skills among the world's finest.

She said: "Bente is one of the top two keepers in the world, and to be alongside her is brilliant.

"I'll see the differences in her training methods, and I'll be able to pick her brains on the things she does before, during and after a match.

"I'll be training with the very best and I'll be learning from them because that's something I definitely aspire to be."

The star-studded match is being played ahead of the draw for the World Cup, which takes place at the Guanggu Science and Technology Exhibition Centre in Wuhan.

And after a hugely successful China Cup campaign earlier this year, which saw the Three Lions gain credible draws against high flying USA and Germany, Brown, who played in all of England's qualifying matches, revealed she feared nobody in Sunday's draw.

She added: "There are 16 teams in the World Cup and you're kind of struggling to find any weak teams.

"Drawing Germany would make it the most difficult to get through to the semi-finals, but to be honest, we've tested ourselves against them and America recently in the China Cup and we did really well.

"For the first time ever we competed with them.

"The signs are there that we're moving in the right direction and I'm really looking forward to the competition."
