BLACKBURN skipper Ryan Nelsen has told his team-mates don't let the season fizzle out' as Rovers prepare to pick up the pieces following their heartbreaking FA Cup exit when Watford visit Ewood Park in the Premiership tonight.

Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea not only shattered Rovers' dreams of appearing in the first Cup final at the new Wembley, it also removed an avenue into Europe, leaving Mark Hughes and his players clinging to UEFA Cup qualification through the league by their fingertips, and, more than likely having to rely on the Intertoto Cup.

However, Rovers would have to finish eighth in the Premiership to claim a place in that competition, which is a tall order as they are nine points adrift of that mark with only six games of the season remaining.

But while there is still a chance of sneaking into Europe, Nelsen insists Rovers must fight to the end, starting this evening against Watford, who are also licking their wounds after Manchester United extinguished their Wembley dream in emphatic style on Saturday.

"All the guys want to win every game we play," said Nelsen.

"We won't be letting the season just fizzle out. We will pick ourselves up and get back to work.

"We've got win our last six games, it's as simple as that.

"Everybody wants to win. Nobody wants to lose, so we will be giving it everything."

After tonight, Rovers face difficult trips to Fulham, Tottenham and Newcastle, as well as home games against Charlton Athletic and Reading.
