Blackburn Rovers youngster Bryan Hodge has vowed to knuckle down and concentrate on trying to make a career for himself in the professional game following a rollicking from manager Mark Hughes.
The midfielder is determined to get his life back on track after being handed a three-year driving ban in February.
The 19-year-old, who was tipped as a future Scotland international when he first broke through at Academy level, got his licence taken off him and was ordered to do 150 hours of community service by Blackpool magistrates after he was caught driving two times over the drink-drive limit.
Hodge, who was on loan at Mansfield at the time, had also been banned once before for a similar offence, and after a frank discussion with Hughes, he now admits he needs to 'sort himself out'.
He said: "I have to try to put it behind me.
"It's an experience I'll learn from and thankfully everyone at Blackburn and my family have been supportive.
"I've had a few harsh words as well, which have been warranted.
"Mark Hughes told me to get sorted out if I want to get anywhere near the first team."
