BLACKBURN Rovers have been left with just one senior centre half for tomorrow’s trip to Reading after Alex Baptiste was ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Baptiste was forced off against Liverpool on Wednesday and Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is awaiting the result of a scan to find out how long the defender will be absent for.

Grant Hanley and Shane Duffy remain absent, while Doneil Henry’s loan from West Ham United was cut short after he also picked up a hamstring injury.

It means Matt Kilgallon is the only senior centre half available tomorrow, with left back Tommy Spurr among those in contention to fill in.

Hanley is not ready to return after a setback in his recovery from injury, while the game may come too soon for Chris Brown and David Dunn.

Jay Spearing, Paul Taylor, John O’Sullivan and David Raya are available again after being ineligible for the cup replay but Josh King and Chris Taylor remain sidelined through injury.

“We’ll be without Baps,” manager Gary Bowyer confirmed.

“How long it’s going to be, we’re waiting on the results of the scans.

“Grant Hanley has had another setback which doesn’t help us at this particular time at all, so he’s had to come off his rehab. He was progressing nicely but just can’t push it on further.

“He’s still missing and the rest, Chris Brown and David Dunn were out on the grass for the first time yesterday so we’ll see how they are, but we’re probably looking more into next week with them.”
