NELSON's defence was pulled apart as they suffered their heaviest defeat of the season at Congleton.
The Blues competed well in the first-half but went behind after 10 minutes when Jordan Johnson beat goalkeeper Jim Davies.
Congleton doubled their lead when Ged Courtney scored with a penalty.
The Blues came close with some good attacks before half-time, but conceded a third on 54 minutes when Courtney headed home from close range.
Ten minutes later, a curling cross was headed in by Jamie Petrie for goal number four.
And within two minutes, a midfield mistake gave Chris Smith the chance to run at Nelson's defence before netting a fifth.
Andy Alston and Smith wrapped up the scoring.
