CLITHEROE slipped to their first league defeat in four outings despite taking the lead against Colywn Bay.
Former Blackburn Rovers and Accrington midfielder Joel Byrom gave the Blues a great start with a fifth minute opener.
But the Welsh side struck back with three goals in the space of 10 minutes to put the game beyond Clitheroe at Shawbridge.
Neil Black equalised for Colwyn Bay on the half-hour mark before former Burscough man John Lawless sent the visitors in front on 39 minutes.
A minute later, Colwyn Bay grabbed their third goal through Darren Wright.
