RAMSBOTTOM manager Lee Sculpher has set his side a top six target after demolishing Formby with a superb show at the Riverside Ground.

The Rams ran up seven goals - with Steve Maden netting after just 33 seconds - to keep alive their Division One promotion hopes.

Sculpher's side are still just one point behind sixth-placed Trafford - who boast several games in hand - and trail fifth-placed Curzon Ashton by seven points.

"We're still hoping that we can push on for sixth position. That's got to be our aim this season," said Sculpher.

"We are just tucked behind in seventh at the moment.

"We've got 11 games left this season and so, to finish fifth or sixth, we are looking at having to win seven or eight more games.

"But that's not going to be easy for us because of the teams we've still got to play - we face teams that are in the top four.

"We will give it a go but we are looking towards building for next season."

Maden blasted the Rams ahead with his quickfire strike and Steve Mainwaring double their lead on six minutes.

Lee Cryer later hit the target, while Carl Lomax and Liam McManus grabbed braces apiece to seal the rout.

Sculpher added: "Steve's goal was possibly one of the quickest I've ever seen in non-league football.

"Formby kicked off, we took the ball from them and went straight up the other end and scored.

"A lot of our goals were from a lot of hard work that we've done in training.

"We've been working very hard in getting the ball out to wide areas and putting crosses into the box.

"Our first four goals aganist Formby came from crosses and that's one of the pleasing things for me.

"Obviously, from the players' point of view, it shows that they are listening to what we are trying to do in training."

Sculpher added: "I don't think we can go into any game thinking you will ever score seven goals - even playing someone that are right at the bottom of the table.

"I'm always delighted if we win by two or three, just to make sure you get the points.

"The key was that we went two goals up within the opening five minutes."
