THE position of Blackburn Rovers owners Venky’s over star striker Jordan Rhodes remained unchanged yesterday.

Venky’s rejected a £10m-plus bid for Rhodes from Championship rivals Middlesbrough two weeks ago.

Despite that knockback it is understood title-chasing Boro asked about Rovers’ club record £8m signing again on Tuesday.

However, it is believed they were once more told Venky’s do not want to sell Rhodes.

Rovers were yesterday concentrating their efforts on bolstering their injury hit squad before the emergency loan window closes at 5pm today.

Under the terms of the club’s embargo for failing Financial Fair Play they are able to bring in one player on loan or on a free transfer.

Rovers were yesterday linked with a loan move for Manchester United centre-back Tyler Blackett.

But with captain Grant Hanley declaring he should be fit for the trip to Leeds United on Saturday week, it is understood Blackett is not the player Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is targeting.
