ALTHOUGH the weather was very foggy and cold it did not stop people flocking to Pleasington to brave the weather and support their respective teams.

Only two games were played in Division One both finishing with similar scorelines. New Gardeners edged closer to the league title with a emphatic win over Havelock, while Clifton kept up their challenge with another big win over AMT Lawyers.

The Second Division title race remains to close to call as Crown Paints stay on top after a 6-3 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Great Harwood Rovers. While Stanhill WMC came from behind to record an excellent win over Station who tasted defeat for only the second time this season.

JQ Plumbing turned in a powerful display to defeat Hyndburn Youth 5-1, while Brown Cow beat Helmshore Harriers 5-2.

In the Third Division, Prince of Wales had a 7-1 win over Sunnybank who have had a tough start in their first season in the league, only two other games were played in this division and they both ended all square. Ewood Blues are proving to be the draw specialist in a 2-2 score line with Rishton Rangers their fifth draw of the campaign, while Hyndburn Youth and Gastec Celtic ended 1-1 in a very entertaining game.

Second Division promotion hopefuls Crown Paints & Stanhill WMC won the Team of the month awards for December and January respectively sponsored by AMT Lawyers, both teams receive a voucher for £35.

The Fair play league sponsored by Blackburn Sports Council & Colborne trophies for December & January was won by Brown Cow & Station, both teams will receive vouchers for £40.

New Gardeners will play their LFA Sunday Trophy semi final againstAFC Ingol at Padiham on Wednesday, February 18 (7.30pm ko).
