Nelson 3 Alsager Town 0

NELSON continued their impressive run of home form as victory took them up to seventh place in North West Counties League Premier Division.

The Admirals started off the brighter against an Alsager side who had lost manager Danny Griggs prior to kick off who had resigned to take over at Nantwich Town.

Nelson then had two glorious chances to make it three before half time with Hession and Ed O’Neill trying their luck at goal only to see their efforts whistle past the post.

The start of the second half saw a slight fightback from their visitors as they created chances of their own but Nelson continued to apply the pressure and got their third goal of the game late on in the second half.

It was man of the match Walmsley completed a hat-trick of assists by finding Wright who scored to wrap up all three points .

Victory stretched Nelson’s unbeaten home run in the league to seven games.
