IF a Premier League club come in with a bid for Rudy Gestede then I’m sure it’s something he would consider seriously and find hard to turn down.

How could he not? Every player wants to further their career.

But if a bid does land on Blackburn’s desk I hope he does reject it because it will only make life harder for the club.

After coming out of nowhere Rudy’s become a really good player for the club.

He’s done a great job up there, taking the pressure off Jordan Rhodes and chipping in with more than his fair share of goals.

Since signing a year ago he’s improved no end and that’s why I hope Blackburn are able to keep hold of him because we need to get back to winning ways.

The Wolves defeat and performance was disappointing, no doubt about it.

You’ve got to be beating teams directly above you because, if you don’t, you’ll soon find the gap to that top six getting wider and wider.

I got a text after the game saying some fans weren’t happy with Gary Bowyer and they were having a go at him.

I can understand their frustration but they also need to sit down and think about what Gary has done for the club in the last couple of years.

Okay form hasn’t been brilliant lately and results haven’t been great but I still think he’s doing a good job and I still think he’s the man for the job.

Rudy Gestede is a good example of that. Gary’s brought in players on the cheap and improved them as players, so much so that if they do go they will likely go for a massive profit.

Blackburn aren’t a spending club any more, they’re going to have to balance the books, and so far Gary has managed to do that at the same time as keeping the club competitive.

He should be applauded for that, but he does need a win on Saturday.

Three points would give everyone, club and fans, a big lift.
