RAMSBOTTOM United and Chorley will be bidding to reach the first round proper of the FA Trophy tomorrow.

Evo-Stik League Premier Division side Ramsbottom make the long journey to Oxfordshire for a tie at Banbury United while Garry Flitcroft’s Magpies, riding high in the Conference North, are at home to Stalybridge Celtic.

With £4,000 up for grabs for the winners, they are crucial clashes.

Ramsbottom will fancy their chances at a Banbury side who are currently bottom of the Southern League Premier Division. Chorley are also favourites to progress.

In the Evo-Stik League Division One North, Padiham can climb off the foot of the table should they win at home to Scarborough Athletic while Clitheroe, who have won just one of their last four league games, host Mossley.

Elsewhere, Colne face a testing trip to their North West Counties League Premier Division rivals 1874 Northwich in the MEN United Cup third round. Northwich are unbeaten in 19 games heading into the tie.

AFC Darwen are on the road at Bootle, while Nelson are in league action when they host leaders Runcorn Linnets.
