Darwen Swimmers created waves at the recent Abersoch Ocean Swim with two of three swimmers enjoying a podium finish.
Barbara Hoyle was the female winner in The Bear Grills Challenge – a 5.5 mile swim around St Tudwals Island which is owned by Bear Grills – in an impressive time of 2hrs 1min.
Kev Massey, at 67-years- old, proved that good technique and experience means that you can go on performing at such a high level regardless of age. He finished in third place in the two mile race in a little over 57minutes. The third member of the trio was coach, Matt Donnelly who finished fourth in The Bear Grills challenge in 1hr 52mins.
The Darwen Swimmers next event is The Utterly Buttermere Swim on Sunday.
