GOALKEEPER Brian Jensen may have played his last game for Burnley after having a transfer request accepted.

The 6ft 1ins stopper voiced his displeasure at being left out of the squad to face Southampton, with on-loan Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt preferred in the starting line-up instead.

And Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has revealed he won't stand in the way of the wantaway Dane.

"I brought Mike Pollitt in because I didn't feel as though Brian was playing as well as he'd played the season before," said Cotterill.

"I think too many goals have gone in this season, whoever's been in goal.

"He came to see me probably at a wrong time and I thought it was more about him being left out than about us getting a result at Southampton.

"So if he wants to leave, which he said, then absolutely no problem."

Cotterill said Jensen had made no attempt to retract his request and as yet the club had received "no phonecalls whatsoever" for the 31-year-old's services.

The Copenhagen-born goalkeeper, known as The Beast' for his giant frame, has made over 130 appearances for the Clarets since his £100,000 move from West Brom in June 2003.

He was an ever-present in his first season, under then manager Stan Ternent, despite conceding 77 goals in 46 appearances.
