Blackbrook 40
Accrington Panthers 34
A new look Accrington Panthers side travelled to a struggling Blackbrook side to try and redeem themselves after last week’s disappointing performance.
Accrington started the game brightly with second rower Adam Todd crashing through the Blackbrook line to score under the sticks to open the scoring.
But a resilient Blackbrook then came back to punish Accrington who continued to make numerous errors – which were to prove costly in the end.
The Panthers had a handful of players returning to the squad, and two more making their debuts.
Try of the match came late in the first half from Frazier Morley who managed to break two tackles and wriggle over the line after receiving a superb pass from Michael Dixon.
The majority of the game was spent with just a two points difference between the teams.
There was an outstanding performance by centre Thomas Gallagher who managed to grab two tries for himself, and was solid as always in defence.
Leon Fifield also crossed twice.
