Blackburn Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen says he was delighted after Rovers began the New Year with a bang.
Pedersen inspired Rovers to a 3-0 win at Wigan and said he was hoping that would fire the Ewood Park outfit to new heights this season.
He said: "It couldn't be better, we had a good start to the New Year last year too so it is a great feeling.
"We deserved the win in the end, it was hard at the beginning but we got ourselves back in the game and we got a good result.
"The second half we played well, we scored some good goals and it was nice for Matt (Derbyshire) to get his first goal in the league."
He added: "I think I've been doing well, my form is getting better and the whole team has been doing better so it is easy to play good.
"We have had a lot of things against us this season and now we are starting to get things with us and are playing better football.
"It is fun to be a Blackburn footballer at the moment."
