Padiham 2 Warrington Town 4
Evo-Stik Division One leaders Warrington Town nearly came upstuck at a boggy Arbories in a match played in horrendous conditions.
Warrington raced to a 3-0 lead only for Padiham – still searching for their first win of 2014 – to fight back and give the leaders a real fright. However, a soft fourth goal sealed the points for the visitors.
The Storks started brightly and Chris Turner fired just wide before Kieron Pickup forced Josh Ollenshaw to top over.
But Warrington took the lead in the 33th minute through Ciaran Kilheeney before Richard Wright made it 2-0 just before the break. A Kilheeney penalty made it 3-0 soon after the restart but that sparked a Padiham revival when Pickup pulled one back before Lois Mayers reduced the arrears even futher in the 77th minute.
But that was where the comeback ended after Kilheeney completed his hat-trick seven minutes from time.
