Tiarnan Crorken only took up running to get himself fit for football – and now his dream is to compete at the Olympics.
The Blessed Trinity star, 14, began running three years ago at Christ the King Primary School.
He found he was good at middle distance events and last year competed for Lancashire at the English Schools Cross Country Championships in Somerset.
Now he has set his sights on the 2020 Olympics.
“I train four times a week at 800m and 1500m and cross country,” said Tiarnan, who lives on Elliott Street. I run for Pendle Athletic Club and last year I ran in the English schools event which was exciting.
“I want to continue progressing and getting better and my aim is the Olympic Games – that’s my dream.”
