Accrington Stanley suffered FA Cup heartache as a last minute Ryan Lowe goal knocked them out at the first hurdle.
The Reds bossed the game for long periods against their League One opponents Tranmere Rovers but paid for their profligacy in front of goal when Lowe struck in the dying moments.
Kayode Odejayi, Peter Murphy, Kal Naismith and Lee Naylor all had first half chances as James Beattie's side dominated proceedings but none could find the back of the net.
The second half was a much more even affair and the tie looked destined for a replay until Lowe converted Jean Louis Akpa-Akpro's clever through ball as Stanley appealed for offside.
There was still time for Piero Mingoia to see a shot cleared off the line for the home side but Tranmere hung on to book a place in round two.
