WE just can’t seem to get anything going at the minute, we seem to be struggling.

The two-week break we had at the start of the month definitely didn’t help us.

We did have a good start to the season but I think maybe the guys have got carried away with that and we’ve slacked off a little bit.

We’re going through a rough patch and Sunday’s defeat to Solway Sharks was tough to take.

We were the better team in the first period and we had a lot of chances. Second period they probably had the better of it but the third period was even.

They got the goal to win it but we had ample opportunity to equalise or even go on and win it ourselves.

But we’re not taking our chances at the minute. I don’t know if guys are gripping their sticks a bit too tightly or confidence isn’t there, but it’s just not going in.

I don’t think Solway are as strong as they were last year and I think in all fairness we’re better than we were.

But like I’ve said before, it’s the consistency with us. It’s always been a bit of a niggly problem.

I do believe if we can get some consistency going then I think we can beat anyone.

We need to knuckle down now. We’ve got a double-header weekend coming up and a few of the lads were saying on Sunday they prefer them as they get the legs going and give you a bit of momentum.

We’ve got Sutton coming here on Saturday. They’ve not been up to par this year so we’ve got a good chance of beating them.

Then we’re back up to Billingham on Sunday for what will be another big game. They beat us in the cup last week but if we play to our strengths and to our game pattern, I’m confident we can beat them.

The puck isn’t bouncing our way at the moment but it’s happened before and I’m sure the boys will bounce back.
