ASHLEY Higgins scored his sixth goal of the season and fifth in his last three outings as Nelson bounced back from two successive defeats.
The Blues got February off to a winning start after ending January with defeats to AFC Darwen and Atherton Colleries thanks to goals from Higgins, Danny Finch and Darren McKenzie.
Nelson dominated the early stages with Brandon Barski and Higgins both going close but the home side were given a let off when Sherrington’s 35 yard strike rattled the Nelson crossbar.
However, Nelson did take a deserved lead when Higgins capitalised on a defensive mix-up in the 37th minute to fire in to an empty net.
And Nelson’s reward for an excellent half of attacking, pressing football came on 44 minutes when they doubled their lead.
A left footed Barski free kick from just outside the area found defender Finch unmarked at the back post and his finish was one a striker would have been proud of.
Nelson keeper Nathan Worrell made an excellent double save in the second half before MacKenzie headed home a third in the 76th minute.
Lindon pulled on back for Cheadle four minutes later before Scott Clarke was sent off late on for the visitors.
