FORMER Accrington Stanley striker Brett Ormerod scored twice against his old club's reserves as Preston ran riot in the second half to win 4-0.
The sides went into the break goalless after a tight opening period, in which Stanley trialist, Leighton McGivern, came closest to breaking the deadlock.
Midfielder Joel Byrom had a poor penalty saved midway through the second half, following a handball, and almost immediately, Preston took the lead through Chris McGrail.
Preston added a second when Rickie Bainies fouled Ormerod in the box and the former Stanley man made no mistake from the spot.
He got his second, and Preston's third, minutes later with a drive inside Rob Elliot's far post and Liam Maloney wrapped up the win just before the end.
