A DOUBLE substitution turned the game Nelson's way as they recorded their second win of the season against fellow strugglers Abbey Hey at Victoria Park.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men on 24 minutes when Craig Doyle was sent off after using his elbow in a challenge with Dave Gray.

But Abbey Hey took a deserved lead after 55 minutes when James Greenhalgh scored with a 12-yard shot.

With the introduction of Mark Derbyshire and Jason Jones, Nelson's play became more attacking and the Blues were soon rewarded.

Dave Gray's run and cross from the by-line gave Chris Ridehalgh an easy chance at the far post to equalise after 65 minutes.

And three minutes later Jones' astute pass enabled Robbie Smith to make a good run into the penalty area and he tucked the ball inside the near post to give Nelson the lead.
