2007? Already! We've had a pretty good "festive" break. Hope yours went well.

We were lucky enough to have a good blend of family and friends, lazy and active, 9 points for the Rovers, some ace presents and nice food. Excellent.

But for others this time may not have been so good. Ill health, no family, having to work.

Across the World we saw, from Sydney to San Francisco, the most dramatic, spectacular firework extravaganzas to welcome in this new year.

But also we know, there are many people across our Planet Earth for whom getting food and water and staying healthy and safe is an uphill if not surmountable battle.

We are very very fortunate, compared to many others.

No three mile walk for poor quality water, none of the other day-to-day real life (or death) threats to us or our loved ones.

Shouldn't we just have a little think, and for those of us who do, a little pray?

Not just for those folk a less fortunate than ourselves but for those who to be alive today at least is almost a miracle.

And after that thought and prayerperhaps a little action?

Buy a Big Issue, take out a Give As You Earn order on your wage slip, get charity cards next year, empty that groaning wardrobe and get those never used/worn for ages items down to your local charity shop.

We can't all be the UN Secretary General, a government minister, the local Director of Social Services or the local vicar, priest or cleric.

But perhaps we can do just a little bit more to help.

Anyone got any bright ideas about us, as individuals, helping to make other's lives a little better?
