A POPULAR beer shop will close its doors at the end of next month.

The House of Beer in Ramsbottom announced on social media the business would be closing for good.

Clint West, who opened the shop in Silver Street in 2016, said he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Mr West's business blossomed since its opening and had more than 400 different beers available to sup, including Ramsbottom's breweries including Rammy Craft and ales from across the globe.

On Facebook, Mr West said: "The House of Beer will be closing for good at the end of February.

"It is with some sadness that I have taken this decision for personal reasons.

"I am looking forward to spending future weekends with my family and my football team.

"I have met some fantastic people in the last two years and will really miss my wonderful customers.

"Over the next few weeks I will be reducing many prices to clear the remaining stock.

"So come and grab some great bargains with quality beers available from as little as £1."

Loyal regulars took to social media to express their sadness of the closure.

John Durkan said: "I'm so sorry to hear your news.

"The shop was a real treasure trove of beery delights and you were such a nice person.

"I will really miss you and your shop. I wish you well in whatever you choose to do next."

Karen Appleton said: "Oh no, love this shop.

"My husband loved his beer advent calendar I made up from your fantastic selection, all the best."

Andrew Bissell said: "That is a real shame but understandable as well and family must come first.

"All the best in what you do next. Rammy will miss you."

Mary-Anne Durkan said; "Gutted to hear your news.

"You have introduced us to some truly amazing beers and we shall miss you and your Aladdin's Cave of beers.

"All the best for the future."

Simon King said: "Gutted been in a couple of times and will be again a few more times before the shop closes."

The provisional date for closure has been set as February 24 however, Mr West said it was dependent upon whether he sells the rest of his stock before then.

The site will close when stock runs out.
