A CELEBRATION day of Whitworth Swimming Club’s 40th anniversary takes place on Saturday.
The free family fun day will run at Whitworth Leisure Centre from 10am to 3pm, and has been organised by the Community Leisure Association of Whitworth and the swimming club.
On the day there will be a full programme of free adult and children events, including fun swimming sessions, organised events including water polo, and an It’s A Knockout game.
There will also be appearances from Olympic torch bearers, and the unveiling of a plaque.
Whitworth Historical Society will display photographs from the last 40 years at the pool. The Community Leisure Association of Whitworth and the swimming club want to see as many people as possible who have used the pool to attend the event.
