A RAIDER who struck 22 times to get cash for drugs is behind bars for more than 850 days.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Jamie Fairclough, 22, of Eastgate, Whitworth, was one of two men who went into the home of a disabled man and his son on Southgate, as they watched TV.
He was seen in the hallway, but made off. An accomplice went into an upstairs bedroom, where the victim tried to keep him, but he escaped through a window.
Fairclough was arrested and owned up to more than 20 offences in a bid to wipe the slate clean.
He admitted burglary at the premises on Southgate and asked for 25 offences – burglaries on Wallbank Drive, Thorburn Drive, Daniel Street and Oak Street, four car thefts and 17 commercial burglaries to be considered.
He had two previous convictions for house burgling. He was jailed for 876 days.
The court heard he told police he was sorry for the victims, but he had not been thinking about them at the time as he had needed money.
