THERE'LL be no escaping the mess-age from this year's United at United open air worship event.

Renowned escapologist and committed Christian Steve Legg will attend the event at Rossendale United's grounds along with former Boyzone pop star Shane Lynch United at United features more than 40 churches from all over the Valley coming together for an afternoon of music and collective prayer.

It is now in its second year and organisers are expecting up to 1,000 at this year's on Sunday, May 20. Around 800 people flocked to the Dark Lane grounds last year.

Pastor Ashley Stansfield, from key organiser Helmshore Christian Fellowship, said plenty of non-Christians were also expected.

He said: "It's going to be cracking. There's also a band on and they are going to be brilliant.

"It's about the churches of different denom-inations coming together and working together to be united.

"We've got Steve Legg and Shane Lynch so it's going to be really interesting."

Shane Lynch has been a born-again Christian for several years, and will be speaking about his faith.

He may also sing while Steve delivers a sermon.

Steve Legg has toured across four continents with his unique show combining magic, escapology stunts and comedy, with the Christian message.

A member of London's prestigious magic circle, he is a Guinness World Record holder for his escapology feats, and has also written It's A Boy, an audio book about the birth of Jesus.

He has also been known to speak while escaping from chains, hanging upside down from the roof The event will begin at 3pm, with parking available at a nearby school.
