ENTRIES for the Whitworth Scarecrow Festival must be in today.
There is a mandatory contribution of £1, and an application form can be found on www.whitworth. gov.uk All money collected will go towards administration costs, and future community events and tourism.
Scarecrows will be displayed from June 29 to July 7. For inspiration, suggested scarecrow themes are sports, animals, the seaside, or characters from favourite bands or TV shows.
A council spokeswoman said: “You might be a home or business owner, or member of an organisation, all are welcome to take part.”
