RIBCHESTER'S 55th field day kicks off with a fancy dress parade from Bee Mill this Saturday.
The parade, at 1am, also features three bands and Ribchester morris dancers and will be followed by the crowning of new Queen Danielle Jackson on the village recreation ground.
The main marquee will host competitive art, craft, cookery and gardening classes as well as a display by Ribchester Allotment and Garden Society.
As a warm up tonight (((FRI))), there will be a performance by professional theatre group Ribcaged at 7pm in the marquee
On Saturday night and ceilidh with Frolicking Pete and the Fumbling Fingers Band at 7.30pm, with tickets available for both events from Ribchester Spar - £5 for the ceilidh and £10 for Ribcaged.
On Sunday afternoon the Jacob's Join village tea party starts at 2pm on the recreation ground with music by Quay Change with entertainment for younger children from Mr Jolly.
Field Day publicity officer Fiona Finch said: "It's a lovely day out for all the family with something to interest every age group."
