PLANS for a new war memorial in Ribchester have been submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council.
The Ribchester War Memorial Association, which formed in July, is aiming to raise between £10,000 and £20,000 in memory of the 22 soldiers who lost their lives during both world wars.
A spokesman for the council said that they had received the application but it had not yet been validated. The group has spent the last few months fundraising and deciding on the design.
Church of England and Roman Catholic soldiers are currently commemorated separately in the village.
