GRACE Davies is through to the final of X Factor – after wowing judges with yet another original song.

The 20-year-old dispelled fears she was a one trick pony, performing her own upbeat pop track 'Wolves'.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell said she sounded more like a returning winner performing a hit single than a contestant.

Her mentor Sharon Osbourne said Grace has a successful career ahead of her and revealed the former warehouse worker and barmaid already has a back catalogue of original songs which are surefire hits.

X Factor host Dermot O'Leary revealed that Grace will perform a homecoming gig in Blackburn on Wednesday, with a likely venue being the town's impressive £25 million Cathedral Quarter.

The result will be a huge boost to Blackburn with Darwen Council bosses keen to show off the new development to a national audience.

It is understood an X Factor crew visited Blackburn earlier this week to scout for potential venues for the gig.

Grace will compete for the X Factor title alongside Kevin White and Simon Cowell's group Rak Su.

The Langho singer has been a firm favourite to take the X Factor title since her performance in the opening show of the series.

She has been dogged by tabloid gossip about diva-like behaviour, as well as talk of a relationship with a fellow contestant and allegations that police were once called to her former school because of a bust-up with a male pal over an iPad.

But the star is now just two shows away from taking the X Factor 2017 crown and a lucrative recording contract.

Even if she does not win, experts are already tipping Grace for big things, given the success so far of her original material.

Grace's progression to the final puts her one step of Blackburn star Diana Vickers (in X Factor terms at least) who made the semi-final nine years ago.
