CONSTRUCTION work has begun on six houses in Chipping.
They will be three bedroom semi-detached homes on Church Raike and will be available for rent.
The homes are being built on vacant land at the northern end of Chipping, and a public consultation saw over three quarters of those attending say they felt the site was suitable for development.
David Croft, a director of Croft Goode Architects, said: “There is huge demand for affordable family homes in rural communities like Chipping, and these new properties will go some way towards helping ease the shortfall in the area.
“We have worked closely with Ribble Valley Borough Council and the local community to come up with a development that meets the needs of the area, while remaining in-keeping with existing housing and that is sympathetic to the local surroundings.”
Christine Grimshaw, managing director for Ribble Valley Homes, said: “We are delighted to be adding to the number of properties we currently own in Chipping and look forward to providing homes for local families who are in housing need.”
